California approves new grid energy storage mandate
California has always been at the forefront of renewable energy policy and legislation. And in October, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) upped the ante, unanimously approving a mandate that requires the state’s three largest investor-owned utilities to add 1.3 gigawatts of energy storage to their grids by 2020.
Blymyer Engineers is well-positioned to help the utilities meet this new requirement. We have years of experience designing and building battery storage technologies for commercial and utility-scale solar installations, and we look forward to continuing to partner with the state on achieving its renewable energy goals.
