(Alameda, CA) Blymyer Engineers, a leading California based engineering company specializing in solar and renewable energy, today announced the award for engineering services to Swinerton Renewable Energy on the Pump jack and Wildwood utility-scale solar power projects. The projects, located in Kern county CA, total 40 megawatts AC. Both are owned by Duke Energy Renewables, and when completed will double Duke’s solar power capacity in California. The projects are on a track to be completed this year.
“We’re very pleased to be partnering with Swinerton on these and several other important solar projects,” said Michael Rantz, Blymyer Engineers President and CEO. “As a forward-thinking company in the solar and renewable energies field we’re proud to be showing the way to clean, affordable and reliable energy in the nation’s number one solar market.”
Blymyer Engineers has been a leader and innovator since the early stages of solar, designing well over 1 Gigawatt of solar projects in the U.S. and worldwide. As an example in 2013 Swinerton awarded the company an engineering contract for the highly regarded 237 Megawatt K Road photovoltaic facility. Located on the Moapa River Indian Reservation in Nevada it represents the first large-scale solar project approved for construction on tribal lands in North America .The energy derived will benefit the economic development of the Moapa Paiute tribe and serve as a source of clean energy to the city of Los Angeles. Blymyer is also providing innovative solar and renewable energy engineering solutions for a host of clients in utility, agriculture, education, government and industrial applications.
Blymyer Engineers has always been ahead of the curve in the renewable energy field,” according to Swinerton Renewable Energy’s division. Artful engineering and problem solving clearly helps EPCs build systems which perform optimally and are efficient and cost effective. Since construction is all about reliable partnerships and collaboration, Blymyer Engineers is relied upon for detailed and sound engineering design and counsel on solar projects worldwide.
The solar energy from Pump jack and Wildwood will be sold through a 20 year power purchase agreement with Southern California Edison.
